Three Seasons Ayurveda
Ayurveda is an ancient holistic system of medicine originating from India, focusing on balancing the body, mind, and spirit to promote overall wellness and prevent illness. It emphasizes natural therapies, herbal remedies, diet, and lifestyle adjustments tailored to an individual's unique constitution, known as doshas.
Jeff studied nutrition before attending the Cordon Bleu, worked in France and England for two years as an apprentice, and then worked as a professional chef for fifteen years. Because of health concerns, Jeff began studying yoga and then Ayurvedic medicine, becoming an Ayurvedic practitioner, registered clinical herbalist, massage, aroma, and color therapist, and a yoga therapist certified by Iynaus, Nama, and IAYT.

To properly use Ayurveda, you must first understand your unique inherent constitution (the balance of the three doshas) that you received at conception, and determine your current state of health, which requires an evaluation. Ayurvedic evaluations encompass two appointments. The first appointment (inital consultation) gathers the necessary information, and during the second appointment (report of findings), you receive (in writing) your prakruti (constitution) and vikruti (state of health), along with the barometers of existence; level of digestion, toxins, and immunity, along with your constitutional diet, a recommended herbal formulas (as needed), and the pertinenet five sense therpie recommend for you. At that point, you can make a decision on how to proceed, which could include follow-up appointments to achieve your goals.
Ayurveda is not strictly vegetarian. It recognizes the yoga belief of Ahimsa (non-harming) and emphasizes a plant-based diet for its health benefits. It also acknowledges the use of animal products in certain treatments and dietary recommendations, depending on individual needs and cultural practices.
Modern medicine primarily addresses disease after it manifests, using pharmaceutical interventions to suppress symptoms or eliminate pathogens. Ayurveda primarily addresses disease prevention by maintaining balance, strengthening the body's own intelligence, and addressing root causes. The two systems are complementary.
