Fresh ginger has a pungent “rasa” and is heating in nature, with a sweet aftertaste. The consumption of ginger stimulates the digestive fire “Agni” and our appetites, and improves absorption and assimilation of essential nutrients in the body while scrapping away undigested food in our system, called “Ama”. Being a potent anti-inflammatory, it reduces joint pain and aching muscles and also keeps the sinuses clear, relieves nausea, gas, and stomach cramps.
Equipment Needed:
Pot for boiling water
Pot, French press, or thermos
Ingredients:
1-quart Water
1-2 Tablespoons Fresh ginger
Sweetener to taste (I use 1-3 pinches of stevia herb)
Instructions:
Peel and then grate or slice the ginger very thin (I prefer grated)
Place the ginger in a pot, French press, or thermos
Pour the boiling water into the container and cover
If you are using a thermos, you can replenish the water as you drink the tea throughout the day.
