Sitopaladi churna is a traditional Ayurvedic formula that bolsters the immune system and promoting health
and well-being. It promotes healthy expectoration and supports the proper function of the lungs and sinuses.
It removes excess Vata, Pitta, and Kapha from the head and chest helping to promote clear, healthy respiration. “Sitopala” literally means rock candy, which is an ingredient that soothes Pitta and calms Vata. “Adi” means etcetera and refers to the heating herbs and spices that help to enkindle the digestive fire and burn Kapha.
Sitopaladi churna is a respiratory tonic expectorant, Immunomodulator, Anti-Asthmatic, Anti-Allergenic, Febrifuge, Diaphoretic & Bronchodilator. It clears and opens the airways and is beneficial for all respiratory ailments, including Asthma, viral infections, coughs, colds, bronchitis, congestion, sore throat, fever, headache, runny nose, and seasonal and allergies.
Its lubricating action clears congestion and soothes the delicate membranes of the lungs and throat. Taken with a teaspoon of honey, it is useful for sore throat and irritating dry coughs. When taken in spring as part of a seasonal regime, Sitopaladi helps detoxify by clearing any excess Kapha that has accumulated through the winter months.
Sitopaladi is made from Vamsa Lochana, which is sweet and cooling and is especially useful for all lung infections. Pippali (long pepper) is unlike regular pepper with a warming (not hot) and sweet action and has the effects of being an immuno-modulator, expectorant, and digestive. The remaining ingredients include rock sugar, cardamom, and cinnamon.
