Ginger Man

Over the years, I have developed a repertoire of go-to holiday recipes that I use every year between Thanksgiving and the end of the year. Below are my favorites, and I hope you enjoy them.

Jeff's Vegetarian Wellington

Wellington

This Vegetable Wellington is my favorite holiday entrée, and although it does have a few steps, you can prepare the filling 2-3 days in advance and bake it on the day of your event.

Roasted Root Vegetables

Root Veggies

Root vegetables have grounding and nourishing properties, stemming from their deep roots, which absorb the earth's stable, dense, and heavy qualities, and culinary spices make these easily digestible.

Pear Salad

Jeff's Pear Salad

This pear salad is truly delicious and so simple to make, and all these ingredients can be bought at Trader Joes or Whole Foods on the way to a holiday party

Ginger Cranberry Relish

Ginger Cranberry Relish

This Ayurvedically inspired cranberry sauce is astringent, sour, and cooling, and rich in natural antioxidants, vitamin C, and fiber. It is heart-healthy, with no cholesterol and low fat content, although it can be high in calories due to its sugar content. It is a natural blood cleanser, and adding ginger, cinnamon, and cloves enhances its digestive benefits.

Apple Crisp

Apple Cripsh

I love apples (especially Fujis), and this apple crisp has Ayurvedic qualities, making it a perfect dish for the fall season. Many varieties are at the height of their flavor and texture. Most apples that ripen from June through November are in season during the fall.
