Steam therapy, or Swedana, is an Ayurvedic therapy that has been used for centuries and is highly beneficial for the body and mind. As the steam and heat build, the millions of sweat glands dilate, leading to better circulation and opening the passages to eliminate metabolic wastes and toxins from the body.

Steam therapy is usually practiced after the Abhyanga massage. It assists in moving toxins from the cells into the lymphatic system. It stimulates hormones responsible for relaxing and calming the mind and body. Personalized herbs are sometimes incorporated based on body type and current imbalances, helping to bring further balance to the body, mind, and spirit.

Below are the benefits of steam therapy:

Relieves body aches, sore muscles, and joint pain.

Moisturizes the skin, allowing medicinal herbs to penetrate deeper.

It burns fat and helps with weight management.

It improves blood circulation and benefits glandular function and metabolism.

It is a natural detoxificant, driving toxins out of the body.

Removes excess doshas from the body, bringing constitutional balance.

Reduces stiffness, cold, and all conditions of stagnation.

Removes inflammation and benefits rheumatoid arthritis.

Relieve stress, anxiety, and worry bring balance.
